Side Door removes 10% House Concert booking commission
Side Door has facilitated shows selling more than 150,000 tickets that paid $2.5 million to users since launch.
House concerts and small alternative venues are an important option for emerging artists. Some more established artists also use house concerts to fill open dates on traditional tours.

No More Commissions
“We no longer take a cut from your ticket sales,” Side Door said in an email to users. “We made this change to put more money back in the pockets of artists and hosts – where it belongs. This applies to all shows booked from today forward.:
“This update feels really good and aligns with our core values,” the email continued. “By removing our 10% commission, we hope to bring in more artists and a lot more hosts, making the decision to use Side Door easy.”
In addition to attracting more artists and hosts, no 10% commission could lead to more agents and managers using the platform to book dates.
Presumably Side Door will be able to operate because increased volume means collecting more of the nominal $3 per ticket fee paid by fans.
