In the latest live music industry news, Tomorrowland and Insomniac Events, two of electronic music’s top festival organizers, are joining forces for an EDM event series August 29-31 at the Las Vegas Sphere.
“UNITY is an opportunity to take you on an electrifying journey through a fusion of music, storytelling, and technology,” the festivals said in a statement. “This guided adventure takes you deep into some of our most beloved realms, all inspired by the themes and characters of our festivals. Tomorrowland’s enchanting themes of Planaxis, Adscendo and Orbyz merge with Insomniac’s vibrant universes of Beyond Wonderland x Nocturnal, Escape x Countdown, and EDC, transporting you into a new multi-sensory dimension.”

• Film distributor Abramorama has acquired the U.S. distribution rights to RadicalMedia and Jake Sumner’s feature-length documentary “Ron Delsener Presents,” a look at the career of the legendary New York concert promoter.
From Variety: “From the Beatles at Forest Hills Tennis Stadium, to bringing David Bowie to Carnegie Hall and Patti Smith to the Palladium, it’s a miniature history of much of the rock music of that era — and arguably the highlight of the doc is his recounting of Simon and Garfunkel’s 1981 reunion concert in Central Park, which features a flawlessly edited back-and-forth chronicling how he convinced Simon that the reunion was actually the singer’s own idea (which Delsener knew was the only way the reunion would happen).”
• The Bomb Factory in Austin’s Deep Ellum is returning to its old name with an April concert. LCD Soundsystem will headline on April 27, supported by art punk band Gustaf.
