
Live Music Industry News: Eventim beats Live Nation • new IEBA exec • SoundCloud adds Ticketmaster
In the latest live music industry news, Concert giant Eventim handily beat Live Nation in Europe in 2024 with 22,440,838 tickets sold at a gross value $1,498,523,633. Eventim’s acquisition of See Tickets in 2024, including its U-Live entertainment arm, helped drive the growth.
According to Pollstar stats, Live Nation was a distance second with 13,765,204 tickets sold in 2024 and a $1,351,649,094 gross.
Rivals SJM (UK), Semmel Concerts Entertainment (Germany), FKP Scorpio (Germany), Friends & Partners (Italy), AEG Presents and Vivo Concerti (Italy) also posted a solid year.

• Brian Wagner has been appointed Executive Director of talent buyer association IEBA. He succeeds Pam Matthews, who is retiring after more than a decade.
Wagner has 30 years of experience in the music industry including artist management, concert promotion and as a booking agent.
“IEBA is deeply committed to its membership and to the music community at large. Brian understands this, and that makes him the perfect person to lead this organization. It is with every confidence that I pass the torch to Brian,” said Matthews.
• SoundCloud, Ticketmaster and TM’s self-serve platform Universe have partnered to give SoundCloud Artist Pro artists new ways to showcase their live events directly on SoundCloud.
Universe’s suite of event management, ticket sales, promotion, check-in, and tracking features will help SoundCloud artists take control of their shows within the SoundCloud platform. Ticketmaster and Universe events will also be promoted to fans throughout SoundCloud through new concert discovery features.
