Moises maker Music AI adds $40M from CAA, Steve Aoki, 3lau, more

[UPDATED] The makers of Moises, Music AI adds $40 million in a funding from Connect Ventures, a partnership of Creative Artists Agency (CAA) and investment firm NEA, and Brazil’s monashees. DJs and producers Steve Aoki, 3lau, Freddy Wexler, and Alexander23 are also among the new investors.

The $40 million investment follows the success of Music AI’s global consumer product, Moises, which has 50 million users worldwide and was Apple’s iPad App of the Year in 2024. The multi-platform suite of AI tools provided by Moises serves a broad audience, ranging from beginners and students to professional musicians and producers.

The company’s Music.AI platform offers artists, record labels, agencies, technology firms, and developers a suite 50+ stackable AI audio solutions including tools for stem separation, chord recognition, key and beat detection, lyrics transcription, and generative capabilities like singing voice modeling and assistive music creation.

The startup says it is “committed to developing ethical AI solutions strictly trained on fully licensed content that empower creators by compensating them fairly and that enhance artistic creativity.”

Other participants in the $40 million funding round include Kickstart, Samsung Next, Toba Capital, Valutia, and Pelion along with renowned music industry professionals including Freddy Wexler, 3LAU, and Alexander23.
