Stop the TICKET Act before it’s too late: FixTheTix Call To Action!
There is new movement in Congress to pass devastating ticket legislation as part of a year-end Continuing Resolution (CR) and the FixTheTix coalition has issued an urgent call to action to stop the Ticket Act before its too late.
FixTheTix is lead by NIVA and includes Eventbrite, Bandsintown, NIVA, MMF, Cash Or Trade and more than a dozen other major music industry organizations.
This flawed bill will hurt fans, independent venues, and the live entertainment community. This proposed weakened version of the TICKET Act would:
- Legalize Speculative & Fake Sales by allowing sellers to rebrand them as “services,” putting fans at risk of paying for tickets they may never receive.
- Fail to Address Scalping & Bots, referencing the BOTS Act but without strengthening enforcement.
- Not Require Face Value Disclosures leaving consumers in the dark about where their money goes.
