In the latest music tech news: UnitedMasters artist FloyyMenor recently had the #1 global song on TikTok. It’s the latest proof that indie and diy musicians can now compete on a global stage.
Backed by Apple and Andreessen Horowitz, valued at more than $550 million, UnitedMasters is challenging traditional music business models by empowering independent artists.
• DAWn Audio and its founders Diego Pinzon and Mandy Ortiz won both the Audience Choice and the Jury Choice awards at the recent 2024 Music Tectonics Conference.
Finalists Parker Busick (Soloist), Richard Anderson (Soundspace) and Alex Brees (un:hurd music) also gave strong pitches.
• EVA, an entertainment tech company that connects performers with corporate and private events, is launching in New York City, its eighth and largest market to date.
Since 2019, EVA has put more than six million dollars in local performers’ pockets in Nashville, Austin, Charlotte, Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago, and New Orleans, and now, more than eighty artists, speakers, comedians, and other entertainers including Christian McBride and Julia Gargano are available to book in NY. EVA was founded by college roommates and best friends Channing Moreland and Makenzie Stokel in Nashville almost a decade ago after they kept running into the same issues while booking live music as students at Belmont University, and thought “there’s got to be a better way.”

• un:hurd music, a platform for music promotion, acquired IndieKnow, the Bangkok based platform helping musicians “get from zero to one” when releasing music.
Integrating IndieKnow’s educational resources and step-by-step learning guides for navigating the music industry, un:hurd adds another stage to their pipeline as a destination for new artists building their careers.
• Bootleg, a company bridging the gap between live experiences and lasting memories with
high-fidelity concert recordings, has added Rohan Adarkar as an equity advisor.
