About Category 7

Category 7 is a recently formed heavy metal supergroup featuring an impressive lineup of veteran musicians: John Bush (vocals, known for Armored Saint and Anthrax), Mike Orlando (guitar, from Adrenaline Mob), Phil Demmel (guitar, ex-Machine Head), Jack Gibson (bass, from Exodus), and Jason Bittner (drums, from Shadows Fall). Their music blends elements of New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM), thrash, and punk-metal, creating a dynamic and diverse sound.

The band released their self-titled debut album on July 26, 2024, via Metal Blade Records. Songs like “In Stitches” and “Apple of Discord” showcase powerful riffs, dynamic vocals, and an intense yet melodic approach. John Bush’s lyrics address themes of social turmoil and personal struggles, adding depth to their music.
