Music Tech News: UMG, KLAY AI team • new Exec @ TuneCore • Patton joins OVG

In the latest music tech news, AI music company KLAY Vision is teaming with Universal Music Group to develop an “ethical model” for AI generated music that works in collaboration with the music industry and human creatives.

KLAY is developing a global ecosystem to host AI-driven experiences and content, including accurate attribution, and will not compete with artists’ catalogs in traditional music services.”

KLAY’s leadership team includes Ary Attie (music producer and tech veteran), Thomas Hesse (former President of Sony Music Entertainment), and Björn Winckler (Google Deepmind).

TuneCore has named Atticus Shelley as the company’s new Vice President of Finance. Shelley started his career working for Hulu before moving to Spotify where he served as a founding Director of the company’s Financial Planning and Analysis team.

Most recently, Shelley served as Executive Director of Finance at Investi Financial.

• Venue management giant Oak View Group has named Alex Patton as Senior Director of Booking, Canadian Arena Alliance.

She joins OVG with experience working at past Live Nation, Endeavor, and The Agency Group and high profile Canadian festivals including Boots & Hearts, WayHome Music & Arts, NXNE, and Toronto Jazz Fest.
