Now, when someone hears a song they like in an Instagram post or Story, they can instantly add it to their Spotify playlist with one tap. This new integration is rolling out worldwide on iOS and Android, making it easier than ever to connect your social media presence to your Spotify streams.

How It Works
Once users link their Spotify accounts to their Instagram profiles, they’ll see an ‘Add’ button whenever music plays in a post or Story. With one quick tap, the song gets saved to their Spotify ‘Liked Songs’ and ‘Your Library’ tab. This feature is another move by Instagram to tighten its relationship with Spotify, following the recent ability to share Spotify listening activity via Instagram Notes.
This move puts Instagram in direct competition with TikTok, which has had a similar music integration feature since last year. While TikTok lets users add songs to a variety of streaming platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music, Instagram is starting with Spotify but may expand to other platforms in the future. This could level up how users discover and save music across social media.
Good For You
For DIY musicians, this is a win. With IG and Spotify linking up, your fans can now save your tracks directly to their playlists with no hassle. That means more streams, more exposure, and a better connection between your Instagram content and Spotify presence. Whether you’re promoting a new release or just getting your music out there, this is a simple way to turn casual listeners into loyal fans—without them having to jump through hoops.
