10 Simple Ways to Promote Music and Engage Fans before year end

by Rami Even-Esh AKA Kosha Dillz.

Just started up my substack / you should do so! I am thinking of multiple ways to promote the music and as it is overwhelming at times I realize that if I list it out, I have a better chance of accomplishing it! SO here goes nothing…or everything?  10 simple ways you can promote your music for the rest of the year.

1. Google Ads

Don’t put too much money in on too many songs.  I had one song eat up 270 dollars worth of ads in one day while the others barely had ads. Slowly add $100 to $200 at a time. You can see which ones perform better on which videos, I certainly have gained over 500 new subscribers which is such a cool thing to see.

2.  Facebook ads

Yes. Zuck and FB are still a part of things to do. Don’t sleep on clicking on the link! Facebook ads def bring new traffic in the middle aged mom and world category.

3. Add your songs to all static posts and add other songs.

You can always pin comments in these things and make memes and more. I add my song to so many and eventually other people add it to. Especially if you share their content and they know….they will really appreciate it 🙂

4. Advertise your shows at the bottom of IG Posts + Comments

Comedians are always doing this! Notice how they have a reel and then say “shows coming up in Boston, NYC, New Brunswick and Philly!. Come out!??” They also make a post viral and add the show info in the comment section and then pin it!

5. Holidays means “Holiday Sales”

There are so many to have sales at. Halloween. Thanksgiving. Hanukkah. Christmas. Winter. Fall.  Set up your sales now to have a surplus of online sales, all while getting rid of old merchandise and in with new items to sell. You can also run a contest. It’s not a goal to make the most money. It’s a goal to get rid of the merch. If this means cheaper, they will come back and buy something full price later. I promise you!

6. Run a masterclass. Share your secrets.

I think it is always awesome to learn with others. I invest now more in learning than I ever have and now also want to experiment more in teaching. I learned by song writing hacks from Kimbra, so if she is teaching then why wouldn’t you try with your fans?  You can charge for these or make the first one free. Holiday sales are great for learning. I love it all.

7. Support others. Support your friends

Believe it or not. Authentically going to other events and being there is a great thing. I call it the homeboy Sandman effect. He would always show up to other events. Keep going to other things and showing love. Giving love is a great thing. This ultimately attracts what you want, which is your own success. It takes giving to receive.

8. Giveaways

If you have some hats and some socks. Give it out! I went to a conference this weekend. I wanted to give stuff away. I gave some things away. People wear them. What goes around comes around. I get so much stuff for free…so I sometimes give out things too. Create a comment share contest and we can easily get the algorithm algorithim-ing.

9. Weekly social posts and projects / series

. I do friendship Friday which I am failing at. Nico does Sunday Dumps. Some people do weekly posts and recaps. Some people do “Lately” or “September in a nutshell” or “October “ and show all

the random pics in theri phone that gives a cool factor. It’s a fun thing to show you a little bit more raw  This is an easy monthly post. Weekly posts, believe it or not , are hard to share.

Try something that suits you and tells a little bit about you without promoting what you are trying to promote. It can be “outfits” or “weekly street show” where you perform on the street once a week.

10. Ask others how they are doing.

Take time to chat with fans daily. Take time to reach out to people who don’t follow you too! (and don’t be upset they don’t follow you)

This is a great way to build rapport. A simple hello or voice note that takes 30 seconds can be a lot to create a lasting connection.  Someone I follow is Mike Posner. I randomly got a voice note from him and I have no clue if it was a mass voice note but it was super epic to get it from him. I met him once doing a show with him in utah like in 2009.

These are all simple to implement. Why not try something new? You don’t have to physically exert yourself here!! Happy to always to show you my methods and you can follow closely on instagram and tiktok .
