Music Tectonics online Pre-Conference to feature MIDiA’s Cirisano, music tech startup pitches
Music Tectonics has announced that its annual pre-conference will be held online on September 11th, featuring a keynote address by Tatiana Cirisano of MIDiA.
The Music Tectonics online pre-conference is designed to set the tone for the in-person Conference and Creator Fair on October 22-24, 2024. It will also showcase pitches from ten music tech startup semi-finalists in the Swimming with Narwhals competition.
“During the pandemic, we discovered the incredible benefits of online events, and we love the serendipity and deep connections we see happening in person,” said Music Tectonics founder Dmitri Vietze. “Virtual events let us unite the entire music tech community across the globe. We’re committed to gathering both online and offline and letting each style of event serve different aspects of our community.”
One Music Business Becomes Two
MIDiA’s Cirisano will present a big-picture view of the future of music and the emerging bifurcation of the industry. In it, the traditional, streaming-focused music business splits off from the emerging fandom and creator-centered sector.
In October, she will be joined by MIDiA’s Mark Mulligan to present the case for each sector side and the inevitability of the split.
