SXSW opens Showcase and Panel applications for 2025

Registration for SXSW 2025 does not open until August 6th, but the gathering’s community Panel Picker and Music Showcase applications are open now.

The next U.S. edition of the SXSW Music Festival will take place in Austin, TX from March 10-15, 2025.

The two-step online PanelPicker encourages the SXSW community to enter proposals and have a significant voice in Conference programming.

Music Showcases

Despite an ongoing controversy over how the festival compensates performers, showcasing at SXSW means performing for some of the 30,000 industry reps, 3,000 media members, and thousands of fans and musicians attending.

2025 Application Deadlines

• Regular Entry ($35 Fee): June 25–August 31, 2024
• Late Entry ($75 Fee): September 1–October 31, 2024
• Final Deadline: October 31, 2024 at 11:59pm PT

Music Showcase applications are open to:

• All music genres
• Artists from around the world
• Signed and unsigned artists

Important details:

• One official SXSW showcase performance is guaranteed per invited act
• Showcase slots run an average of 40 minutes (some exceptions may apply)
• Showcases will take place between March 10-15, 2025
• SXSW does not cover artist travel or accommodation expenses
• Some showcases may not provide backline
