YouTube Promotion Test Results: Be careful displaying to all countries

Michale Brandvold and Jay Gilbert look at YouTube Promotion and review new test results on a new Music Biz Weekly podcast.

These tests didn’t restrict countries or languages and showed significantly reduced cost per play and subscriber. But… there are some possible concerns because the countries that played the video were Pakistan, Iraq, and other Middle Eastern countries. Countries that typically do not view the videos.

Are these legit plays and subscribers?

Will this potentially mess up organic traffic?

More questions need to be answered. Plus, there is some confusing messaging coming from Google Ads, including rejecting a promotion for being clickbait after the promotion had successfully run.
