Peter Hook & The Light’s Massive 2024 Tour
Peter Hook & The Light have announced a massive tour for 2024, spanning across Australia, New Zealand, North America, the UK, and Ireland. The tour will feature the band playing the Substance albums of both Joy Division and New Order in their entirety. Peter Hook first performed Unknown Pleasures, Joy Division’s iconic album, at a charity concert back in May 2010 and has been revisiting the repertoire of his bands, Joy Division and New Order, every year since. Peter Hook & The Light have since played every album, culminating in the Factory Records Substance compilations, and recently celebrated the ongoing influence of Joy Division and Ian Curtis with the “Joy Division: A Celebration” concerts in which they played both of the band’s albums in full.
Peter Hook‘s dedication to his extensive back catalog is admirable as he has since moved through Unknown Pleasures, Closer, Still, Movement, Power Corruption & Lies, Low Life, Brotherhood, Technique, and Republic, playing over 600 concerts and extensively touring in Europe, North and South America, China, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand to great fanfare from both fans and critics.
Playing shows at well-known festivals such as Bestival, Benicassim, Kendal Calling, Primavera Sound, Rebellion, and Victorious, as well as selling out shows worldwide, the intensity and beauty of Peter Hook & The Light‘s performance have been praised unanimously. Peter Hook himself speaks fondly of the Substance LPs. “It still amazes me how enjoyable it is to play the Substance LPs,” he says. “The contrast between Joy Division and New Order is very apparent, but the two complement each other very well. My only frustration is not being able to play more of our records each night. I am totally looking forward to the next phase. So, let’s enjoy some Substance and get ready for the future.”
