DistroKid adds Android app as iOS app passes 500,000 downloads

DistroKid has launched its first-ever mobile app for Android. Earlier this year, the independent music distributor launched its iOS app, which has been downloaded more than half a million times.

Like its iOS predecessor, the new Android app enables artists to upload releases, receive instant payment alerts, access stats from Apple and Spotify, edit metadata, and more from their phones.

Earlier this year, DistroKid acquired the popular music website platform Bandzoogle and launched Mixea. This AI-powered intelligent mastering tool makes music “radio ready” by optimizing bass, compression, stereo enhancement, EQ, limiting, and loudness.

Founded in 2013, DistroKid says that it distributes 2 million artists and 25 million songs, representing 30-40% of new music releases globally.
