This Earth Day, resell old gear instead of scrapping it

The components inside music and audio gear often include dangerous heavy metals like lead, mercury, and cadmium that, if trashed, can contaminate the soil and local water supplies.

One solution is online musical instruments and pro audio equipment retailer Sweetwater’s Gear Exchange platform, which helps musicians buy and sell used gear, significantly extending the lifespan of the equipment while also saving and earning money.

We wrote about Sweetwater’s Gear Exchange when it launched in 2022 and have been tracking it ever since. We still like what we see.

Earth Day 2023 seems the perfect time to give it a try.
