Just 25% of Americans oppose a full TikTok ban
A new Washington Post poll found that 41% of Americans support a federal ban on TikTok, while just 25% say they oppose it. 34% say they are unsure.
71% are “concerned” that TikTok’s parent company is based in China, including 36% who say they are “very concerned.”
While young people are less likely to support a ban, whether or not you use the app is the greatest determinant. Earlier this week TikTok said that it has 150 million active users in the US., almost half of the country’s population of 336 million.
The poll comes as TikTok’s CEO appears before Congress on Thursday.
