Rihanna’s Spotify streams up 640%, Apple rise 331% after Super Bowl
Rihanna took to the Super Bowl LVII’s halftime show stage Sunday with a medley of her hit tracks. Individual songs spiked as much as 2600%, and her overall U.S. Spotify streams received an impressive 640% lift in the hour after the game ended.
- Streams of Rihanna’s opening track “Bitch Better Have My Money” increased by more than 2,600% in the U.S.
- “Diamonds” was up by more than 1,400% in the U.S.
- “Rude Boy” increased by more than 1,170% in the U.S.
- “We Found Love” was up by more than 1,160% in the U.S.
Pre-game performers Chris Stapleton and Sheryl Lee Ralph also saw Spotify spikes of 65% and 70%, respectively, in the U.S. between 11 PM and Midnight.
Apple Music & Shazam
Over in Apple-land, Rihanna’s concurrent listeners on Apple Music jumped 331%. “Umbrella” re-entered the top song charts in 105 countries nearly 16 years after its release. “We Found Love” made the chart in 92 countries, and “Work” re-entered the charts in 50 countries.
“We Found Love” was the song with the most Shazams.
