5 impressive stats confirm SoundCloud’s continued growth
Not too many years ago the survival of SoundCloud was in question. But new stats show a platform that’s thriving in large part because of a uniquely artist-centered approach.
Recently filed financial reports show:
- 320 million tracks
- 130 million listeners
- music from 40 million artists
- by comparison, Spotify houses 11 million artists
- 100,000 independent artists paid a higher rate thanks to the platform’s Fan-Powered Royalties
- Some WMG artists also receive FPR’s
- revenue was up 19% to $273 million at the end of 2021
