Spotify For Artists adds guide to merch sales, direct-to-fan commerce
Spotify For Artists has added a landing page that brings together its many direct-to-fan sales tools and resources.
“Sell merch on Spotify and build your fandom,” reads the site. “Build your business by selling directly to fans as they stream your music.”
Spotify does not take a cut of merch sales but does require a Shopify account which costs $5.00 per month and up.
As part of the launch, Spotify has added a video series called “From Mockup to Merch Table,” which follows artists as they design and sell merch on Spotify.
The pilot episode features indie singer-songwriter mehro talking about a necklace he created and sells only on Spotify that represents themes from his two albums, “Dark Corners” and “Alchemy.”
He also explores how and why making something physical that will resonate with your fanbase is impactful to both his fans and his artistic expression.
