Musicians react to Roe v Wade: Kendrick Lamar, Phoebe Bridgers, Lizzo, P!nk, Taylor Swift & more

UPDATEDl The music business and many musicians have reacted strongly to the U.S. Supreme Court ruling which overturned the 50-year-old precedent affirming a women’s right to choose.

Offering a nearly universal outrage against the ruling, here is a sample of the reaction of musicians and the music industry reaction from across the web:

Kendrick Lamar closed his set at the UK’s massive Glastonberry Festival with a powerful performance of “Savior,” during which he repeatedly rapped, “Godspeed for women’s rights; they judge you, they judge Christ!” while blood poured down from his diamond-encrusted crown of thorns. Watch:

Phoebe Bridgers led the Glastonbury Festival audience in a chant of Fuck the Supreme Court: “Fuck that shit, fuck America, fuck you. All these irrelevant old motherfuckers trying to tell us to do with our fucking bodies.”

Lizzo & Live Nation pledge $1M

Pink used was outraged.

Taylor Swift retweeted Michelle Obama and added her own displeasure.

Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong told the audience that he us “renouncing” American citizenship following Roe v. Wade reversal: “”There’s just too much fucking stupid in the world to go back to that miserable fucking excuse for a country”
