Stevic Mackay of Twelve Foot Ninja on the ‘big pool’ royalty model
Twelve Foot Ninja’s Stevic MacKay speaks on market centric and the defense of user centric.

Check out this “must see” video by Stevic MacKay of the Australian band Twelve Foot Ninja. This is one of the best critiques of the market centric or “big pool” royalty model and complete defense of user centric I’ve seen since Sharky Laguana’s seminal post (“Streaming Music is Ripping You Off“). If you haven’t engaged on the topic yet, take a few minutes and watch the video–I wish I’d seen it when we wrote the WIPO study on streaming remuneration and I would have definitely included it. Further reading would be the Ethical Pool post on MusicTech.Solutions or my comment to the UK Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Select Committee.
