Double Elvis to launch LUST FOR LIVE audio network connecting fans with local music, events

Double Elvis, the company behind hit podcasts like DISGRACELAND, BADLANDS, and 27 CLUB is launching a new local audio network under the umbrella, LUST FOR LIVE.

LUST FOR LIVE will consist of distinct local podcasts designed to keep listeners informed of upcoming live events and introduce them to national and local acts through a mix of interviews, performances and curated recommendations. 

LUST FOR LIVE will launch its first podcast in Boston in February of 2022, with additional cities like New York and Los Angeles launching later in the year. Each podcast will be helmed by a creator living in that city.

An audio alt-weekly

Early in my career, I sold the record store ads for the Boston Phoenix and Jake Brennan, Co-Founder of Double Elvis and host of DISGRACELAND considers his new podcasts an audio replacement for the now defunct newspaper and others like it.

“Before digital completely disrupted print, my key to the city was the now mostly defunct ‘alt-weekly’ In my town of Boston, it was The Boston Phoenix,” says Brennan. “Every week it told me which bands were rolling through town that I had to hear, what movies to see, which records were coming out that week.”

“Every city had their version of The Phoenix,” he continues. “Those solutions are either dead or don’t fit into our newly digitized attention spans. Through the power of audio, we are going to solve this problem.”

Each episode of LUST FOR LIVE: BOSTON and the cities that follow will include upcoming event highlights, interviews from visiting national acts and local artists, exclusive live performances, arts and culture news, as well as syndicated content from other Double Elvis productions.
