UPDATE: SBA SVOG portal is open and taking grant applications

UPDATE: Initial reports were generally positive Monday afternoon after the SBA finally began taking applications for desperately needed Shuttered Venue Operating Grants (SVOG) after multiple false starts.

@HYPEBOT will be live-tweeting reports from users applying for their share of $16.3 billion in funding allocated by the US Congress four months ago.

A little over two weeks ago, the SBA SVOG portal crashed on opening day before taking a single application.

UPDATE

Hypebot received messages from several dozen venues and agents Monday afternoon who had completed the SVOG application process within 2 hours or less of the portal opening. While some found the questions unclear, few reported technical glitches.

Just completed a sample test run of the #SVOG application @SBAgov to see if content errors have been corrected. Looks good so far. (Note: @ArtsActionFund is not eligible to apply, just kicking the tires as a member service). Please let me know if you run into any problems.

It was super smooth sailing this time. It seems like everyone who has submitted so far is still waiting on confirmation emails and for the completed apps to get posted in the portal itself. But the system assigned app # and shows a confirmation screen at end.
