Mixcloud Hacked, 21M User Records Exposed
A data breach on popular audio streaming platform Mixcloud has left more than 20 million user accounts exposed and their data on sale on the dark web.
A dark web data reseller is asking for $4,000 in bitcoin for 21 million Mixcloud user accounts.
Mixcloud acknowledged the breach while also seeking to download the severity of the damage.
“Mixcloud does not store data such as full credit card numbers or mailing addresses.
The passwords that Mixcloud does store are encrypted with salted cryptographic hashes to ensure that they are extremely difficult to unscramble. This means that they are unlikely to be decrypted by hackers.
Whilst we have no reason to believe that any passwords have been compromised, you may want to change yours, especially if you have been using the same one across multiple services.”
