Sheryl Crow,Joan Jett to Be Honored at 2019 Clio Music Awards
Clio Music has announced that Sheryl Crow and Joan Jett will both be honored at the 60th annual Clio Awards. Crow will receive the Clio Music Impact Award, recognizing artists who have made a significant impact on popular culture through their originality, which as a result, move their industry forward and bring about social change, while Jett will be the recipient of the 2019 Clio Music Lifetime Achievement Award.
Crow, an impassioned activist, recently joined Citi’s #SeeHerHearHer initiative to advocate for gender equality in the music industry. She’s also involved in a number of organizations, including Natural Resource Defense Council, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, American Red Cross, World Food Program and Sandy Hook Promise.
Rock legend and trailblazer, Jett, who has used her stardom as a platform to champion women’s, LGBTQ and animal rights, will mark the occasion with a rare acoustic performance during this year’s show.
The Clio Awards, sponsored by Citi, are scheduled to take place September 25 in New York City.
