Grammy Awards Cut Eligibility Year To Just 11 Months
Eligibility for the 62nd annual Grammy Awards will close Aug. 31, a full month earlier than in previous years. The shift comes alongside the Grammy telecast moving up two weeks to Jan. 26, 2020, after the Academy Awards moved its telecast to Feb. 9, 2020, the same day as the original Grammy date.
The change means that this Grammy eligibility year is just 11 months: Oct. 1, 2018, to Aug. 31, 2019.
Recordings released after Aug. 31 will be eligible for the 63rd annual Grammy Awards in 2021.
