Ninja Tune’s Peter Quicke Named New AIM Chair
The UK based Association of Independent Music (AIM) has announced Ninja Tune MD Peter Quicke as its new chair. Quicke, who has been with London's Ninja Tune since shortly after its inception in the early ’90s, will step into the board appointed role effective immediately.
He replaces Tim Dellow of Transgressive, who has been in the role for two years at the special request of the board in order to assist Paul Pacifico’s transition into the CEO role.
Commenting on the appointment, Pacifico said: “On behalf of the AIM board I am delighted to announce the appointment of Peter Quicke as our new chair. We would like to extend our warmest thanks to our outgoing chair Tim Dellow, who has done an amazing job over an extended two-year tenure, while welcoming Peter who will bring energy, insight and a keen understanding of the challenges facing the independent music community to his new role.”
Dellow added: “I’m immensely proud of what has been achieved by the AIM team in my tenure as its first elected chair. Paul has worked diligently to completely rejuvenate the organisation, bringing in an exuberant, youthful team, and elevating and empowering committed employees dedicated to repositioning the independent sector as a place for creative entrepreneurs, adding a real value to our artists and their careers, whilst building on the core ethics and responsibilities that the sector should reflect.
Quicke said: “AIM is doing a very important job for independent music makers, labels and distributors. I’m excited to be able to assist Paul and his team however I can.”
