Rendezville Web App Creates Affordable Option for Small and Medium Festivals
If you’ve ever hesitated to download yet another app, you’ll understand why Rendezville founder Joseph Tzeng chose to create his new festival and conference schedule as a web app. That means that festival goers don’t need to download an app to dive into performance schedule, photos, music, videos, bios and maps.
“By staying out of the app stores but having all the functionality of an app,” explains Tzeng, “We are able to keep prices far below most app creators but still have a highly beautiful, functional, and interactive festival and conference schedule experience.”
Festival goers will assume your web app has been custom built. Festival organizers can re-direct their own brand URL to the schedule and the look is fully branded for their event. Once they use the “Add to Home Screen” feature of their smartphone, it will be as if they downloaded a fully functional app. They can tag favorites by clicking on a heart icon and build a personalized schedule. They can swipe left and right through events by time or swipe down to dig further into an event, where organizers can include SoundCloud, YouTube, and social media links; as well as biographies and an auto-generated Google map for directions.
Customers to date include CD Baby’s DIY Musician Conference, Lotus World Music and Arts Festival, the Limestone Comedy Festival, and more.
“In our first year organizing the DIY Musician Conference for CD Baby, we made a last minute decision to try out this app,” says Dmitri Vietze of event organizing and PR firm rock paper scissors. “In just a couple days we added everything we needed for 49 events and just like that we were up and running. User feedback was incredible and they had no idea that the app had come into being only days before.
