Former UMG Digital Exec Rob Wells Joins Music Social Network Crowdmix As CEO Americas
Over 14 years, Rob Wells helped guide UMG into the digital age as President of Global Digital Business, Now he's taking on how musicians interact with their fans on social media.

Rob Wells, the former President of Global Digital Business at Universal Music Group has joined Crowdmix as a board member and its Global Chief Commercial Officer and CEO – The Americas based in LA.
Crowdmix is a new London based social network dedicated to music fans and artists. The Crowdmix app will launch early in 2016 with an aim of unifying the fragmented social media landscape for music. The app will enable users to develop and enjoy rich, social media experiences by joining crowds, or communities, of like-minded people, using music as the link.
“Initially skeptical," said Wells "I quickly became incredibly excited by the scale of Crowdmix’s ambition, its ridiculously talented tech team, music industry support, strong funding and vision to give fans the social experience they crave."
Crowdmix will support both established and emerging artists, according the the company. "Think new revenue streams for artists, actionable data, fan engagement which redefines the way brands engage with artists."
The startup has raised $27 million USD in angel funding, and is currently in the process of raising an additional $20 million to $30 million before the end of the year.
