Amazon Prime Music Turns 1 Year Old Today
[UPDATED] With "several million" in the U.S. listening to its 1 million tracks each month, Amazon Prime Music is a significant, if often overlooked, player in digital music. Today, the on-demand streaming service turns a year old.
Prime Music is celebrating one year of delivering music to Amazon Prime subscribers. Prime Music offers a million songs, a thousand Playlists and hundreds of Stations to US Amazon Prime members at no additional cost.
Prime Music attracts several million Prime members each month for ad-free listening. Members can also download music to mobile devices for listening regardless of connection.

- Total monthly Prime Music playback hours have more than tripled since September 2014

- Hundreds of Prime Stations have been added to Prime Music, giving listeners an ad-free internet radio service—the continuous stream of music can be paused, replayed, or skipped without any restriction
- Pop and Rock reign supreme as the top genres in Prime Music. Prime members also listen to nearly 50% more Country, 600% more Jazz and 1500% more Classical than the national average for streaming services.
