SFX To Relaunch Beatport As EDM Streaming Music Service

SFX Entertainment has spent a considerable amount of time and energy focusing on the Electronic Music sector. Staking claim to hundreds of dance festivals in two years time, SFX hopes to gain the attention of electronic music fans when they relaunch Beatport.com, a 10 year-old digital music store SFX acquired last year. In lieu of selling downloads, the site will operate as a free, ad-supported music streaming service where fans will be able to listen on-demand catalog of primarily electronic music. 

The re-launch of Beatport.com is meant to serve as a landing space for electronic music fans to find event information, artist profiles, and potentially link to livestreamed performances. The new site is believed to be incorporating some of SFX's newest acquisitions: Listn, a music based social network, and hostess.fm, a service that allows listeners to hear what is playing in clubs around the world in real time.
