Apple, Beats Exec Jimmy Iovine Adds Live Nation Board Director To His Résumé
Jimmy Iovine is extending his already powerful reach to another corner of the music business. Concert and ticketing giant Live Nation has appointed the former lnterscope label boss, Beats Music co-founder and current Apple excec to their board as a new independent director. According to the announcement, Iovine will be tasked with creating new business models and marketing strategies aimed at music fans.
"Jimmy is an extraordinarily gifted arbiter of culture who understands brands and creating compelling new products and services. He will add an important voice to our board of directors as we look to continue to accelerate Live Nation's growth plans," said Greg Maffei, chairman of the Live Nation Board of Directors.
"Live Nation has put together the right management team and incredible assets to really be effective in the new music economy," added Iovine.
