One Direction Breaks More Spotify Records
Take that Taylor Swift! One Direction's new "Four" continues to break records on Spotify. "Four" had the biggest first-week in the U.S. for 2014, which also sets a record for most 1st week streams in (Spotify) history: 11.6 million in the U.S.
More Milestones:
- 30 million global streams
- 1.3 million Spotify playlists called "1 Direction" or "1D"
- The band now has passed one billion total global streams on Spotify
In its first week, the record sold 387,000 copies to become the second-biggest debut of the year, trailing only Taylor Swift’s massive 1989.
