Microsoft Launches Music Deals App Boasting $0.99 and $1.99 Album Deals

Microsoft just announced it's rollout of Music Deals – a new app for Windows and Windows Phone users with big music taste on a tight budget. The company has promised the realease of 101 "top albums" on Tuesday of every week. These albums will be all be available for a limited time at the discounted cost of $1 – $2. Though the Music Deals is in its early stages, it has the potential to give Microsoft its first foothold in the pricing war with the already sparring Spotify, Apple, and virtually everyone in between. 

Music Deals will alert you when new albums have been released at the discounted pricing. You will also be able to pin the app to your start screen for easy access to the latest deals. Purchases will be made and downloaded through XBox Music and immediately be available on your phone.
