Apple Shows iPad Not Just For DJs With New Ad
Apple's iPad has shown itself to be an increasingly useful tool for digital music making and djing with a variety of apps for such purposes. In a new tv spot for their "Your Verse" campaign, Apple highlights the use of an iPad for classical music from making notes for a composition all the way through to realization of the live work. While DJs might seem to have more universal appeal, the ad stands well on its own and might also be a good example of how classical music could market itself in the digital age.
Apple had already ventured into musical territory for its Your Verse iPad campaign with Bollywood choreographer Feroz Khan. A new tv ad puts the music creation potential of the iPad front and center.
Esa-Pekka's Verse
Composer and conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen is featured in the above spot with a second featuring travel writer Chérie King.
According to Matthew Panzarino at TechCrunch, the spot features two iPad apps, Notion and Pianist Pro.
While Esa-Pekka's Verse emphasizes classical music, Peter Kirn at Create Digital Music has been documenting iPad DJ apps including:

Creatively music may well be the iPad's best use case. Or, in more human terms, iPad appears to be awesome for making music.
