Streaming Fuels Digital Music Growth [CHART]
Global digital music revenues hit an all-time high of $5.9 billion in 2013. Income from streaming services, both ad-supported (+17.6%) and subscription-based (+51.3%), saw growth that offset a small decline in download revenues (-2.1%). Observers believe that download sales may have reached their market peak as streaming music services from Pandora to Spotify gain in popularity.
