Who Needs Teens? Facebook Is Still Growing

Facebook upFacebook may be having trouble retaining teen users, but new figures released during it's 4th quarter earning reports yesterday, show continued user growth overall.  Social network has now passed 1.23 billion total monthly active users.

  • Daily active users (DAUs) were 757 million on average for December 2013, an increase of 22% year-over-year.
  • Mobile DAUs were 556 million on average for December 2013, an increase of 49% year-over-year.
  • Monthly active users (MAUs) were 1.23 billion as of December 31, 2013, an increase of 16% year-over-year.
  • Mobile MAUs were 945 million as of December 31, 2013, an increase of 39% year-over-year.

  1. Not to completely knock all that growth but I wouldn’t be surprised if most of that growth is from fake profiles that those Facebook farms create. I have a local band with a small profile but I’ve deleted at least 4,000 fake Facebook profiles from my page in the past 6 months. I suspect there’s still a good 11K fakers that I can’t even access to delete.
