Rdio 2013: Cover Tracks, Top Global Releases and 2014 Artists To Watch
Rdio released its top tracks and albums of 2013 today along with some special features. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis took both Top Global Album and Track with "The Heist" and "Can't Hold Us (feat. Ray Dalton)." Bruno Mars took second in both categories with "Unorthodox Jukebox" and "When I Was Your Man." In addition to Artists To Watch plus recommendations and staff picks, Rdio apparently commissioned some cover tracks from indie artists for a unique special playlist.
Today Rdio shared its 2013: Off the Charts selections. A special touch is the Rdio Covers 2013 shown below. Rdio says they "asked some of our favorite artists to reimagine the biggest hits of 2013" and produced the below playlist.
According to the official announcement these are "top ranking tracks with a selection of the year's most impactful songs being covered by indie artist that have made their own mark in 2013."
