Time Warner Gives Free Slacker Music Service To 11 Million Cable Net Subscribers
(UPDATED) Music streamer Slacker is now available at no cost to 11 million Time Warner Cable residential internet subscribers, the two companies announced today Using a new Time Warner web portal users get access to both songs and curated internet radio stations. Users can listen to Slacker at http://twcc.slacker.com.
“Slacker has grown quickly in the past year, adding millions of new listeners on web, in cars and on mobile devices,” said Jim Cady, CEO of Slacker said in a statement. “Partnering with Time Warner Cable helps Slacker continue to grow our audience and reach millions of new consumers every day.”
Slacker has been aggressively forming partnerships billing and distribution deals with Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and U.S. Cellular. In addition, Slacker is available in vehicles produced by Ford, GM, Chrysler Group, Acura, Honda, Scion, Subaru and Tesla.
