MFiveLabs Scores $500,000 Funding For Listn Social Music App

Montreal and Los Angeles based MFive Labs has scored a $500,000 seed round. The startup, which incubated at FounderFuel and LaunchPad LA,raised the funds from Real Ventures and BDC Venture Capital. For now at least, their main product is the newly launched Listn music app which creates social networks based on music libraries. 

After downloading the free iOS app and sign up, Listn users music is available to their friends and followers. They can create playlists and heart songs from other people's library to add them to their own collection. Playback happens via Spotify, YouTube, Rdio, Soundcloud or iTunes account with Listn combining music libraries, allowing them to listen to their friends' music, regardless of what music streaming service they are on.

"Listn gives you the ability to interact with music like you have never done before. We're giving "hand-picked" music a new meaning," said Matt Rabinovitch CTO and co-founder of Listn. "Follow your friends' music profiles and explore what they listen to, all in a simple stream."
