Floods Cancel Final Day Of Austin City Limits Fest
Heavy rains and flooding forced organizers to cancel the final day of the Austin City Limits Music Festival, putting the kibosh on performances by Atoms For Peace, Lionel Richie and 40 other artists. Held in Zilker Park in downtown Austin, the festival was susceptible to flooding from Lady Bird Lake, a reservoir of the Colorado river that is adjacent to the park.
“Our first priority is always the safety of our fans, staff and artists,” said Shelby Meade, communications director for C3 Presents, the promoter behind Austin City Limits Music Festival. “We regret having to cancel the show today, but safety always comes first.”
Festival organizers announced that they would refund 1/3rd the cost of ticket price to all ticket buyers based on the original ticket price paid. – via Celebrity Access
