Spotify Dominates Facebook Music Apps, Pandora Slips As Songza Comes On Strong.

The top 10 music apps on Facebook total 74M monthly active users (MAU), according to a new analysis from MetricsMonk. That's an increase of 18M MAU since the same time last year.  The top 5 total 61M monthly active users, and just over half of those are for Spotify with 33M MAU.

The Spotify app has seen huge growth over the past year, almost doubling its number of Facebook app users from 19M MAU at this time last year.  Pandora, SoundCloud, Deezer and iHeartRadio complete the top five music apps, but none approach Spotify's dominance. H

• Pandora’s monthly active users dropped sharply in the middle of last year and have continued dropping since, now stagnating at around 8M MAU, under half of the 18M MAU the app had at this time last year. 
• SoundCloud challenges Pandora for second place with 7.8M MAU and has doubled its number of users from last year which stood at just under 4M MAU. 
• French music streaming service Deezer, has seen its users climb steadily and currently sit just under Pandora at 7.8M MAU, tripling its figures from last year which saw the app with 2M MAU. 
• iHeartRadio almost doubled its users from last year seeing them up from 2.7M MAU to 4M MAU.
• Rdio sits at #10 with 1M MAU. Launched in 2010, Rdio has climbed the music industry apps on Facebook over the past year increasing its monthly active user base by almost 700%. 
• Personalized music apps are becoming more popular:
  • Songza comes in at number 11 with 980.000 MAU 
  • 8tracks holds 16th place with 530.000MAU
