Spotify Continues Mobile Expansion With New Orange Deal
Mobile partnerships have become a new battleground as music streamers compete for customers. Today,Spotify inked its first deal with EU mobile giant Orange in Switzerland. The Orange Young plan adds free Spotify access to mobile bundles of customers under the age of 27.
Today's
launch with Orange Switzerland marks the latest in a series of telecom partnerships for Spotify in Europe including Telia (Sweden, Denmark,
Finland and Norway), Virgin Media (the UK), Yoigo in Spain, SFR in France,
KPN in the Netherlands and Deutsche Telekom in Germany.
"The way in which we
experience music is just as individual as we are. Now Orange is also offering
this individuality to young people with its range of deals including Spotify,”
says Stefan Zilch, Spotify CEO in Switzerland. “
