X5 Expands Into World Music With A Train, ARC Label Deals
Digital catalog compilation label X5 has added two new indies, ARC and A Train, to its growing list of label partners. X5 compilation releases in classical, blues and video game music are already in the Top 5 on most digital music charts; and the new deals add deep world music catalogs. They plan to release 200 digital
compilations this fall and winter, curated from
30K newly licensed tracks.
The new label signings are:
ARC Music – Established in 1976 to preserve the
ethnic music of world cultures, and to spread traditional and original music
with a positive message. Their repertoire consists of well over 700 albums from over 120 countries
and cultures.
A Train Entertainment's boutique catalog features artists and labels from jazz to world to rock to electronic, new age and
many others. Record company catalogs represented include Crammed Disc (Bebel
Gilberto, Konono nº1), Total Creative Freedom (from London with releases by
Sparrow, Turncoat, Bob Hillary), Canyon Records (R. Carlos Nakai, Grammy
Winner), Silver Wave (Johnny Whitehorse, Grammy Winner) and more.
