Animation, Art & Music Videos
You
may have seen the music video for ‘Just the Way You Are’ from Bruno
Mars which combined live action and some animation. In the video, Mars
drew shapes with unspooled tape to show his girlfriend how he felt about
her. It seems that more artists are using animation in music videos
because animation helps convey concepts like imagination or dreams. On
Music Think Tank, Alfie Davenport writes about animation, its use in
music videos, and its potential. Have you used animation in a music
video or seen examples of creative music videos?
“Ultimately the possibilities animation offers makes it such an attractive prospect for modern artists: The potential to create a whole new world for your band to play in, or simply show your girlfriend how you really see her.”
