Topspin Launches 2 Major Products To Spread Direct To Fan Sales To More Music Sites

With the launch of GoDirect and the ArtistLink API, Topspin hopes to bring direct to fan sales and marketing to more music sites using its platform as the conduit.

GoDirect gives a name to the work Topspin is doing with Artists.MTV that enables artists to control their profile, as well as to market and sell to fans directly on MTV's hugely popular web destinations.  While connected to the more robust Topspin platform, GoDirect also serves as a simpler introduction to the company's more robust, but for some technically overwhelming, direct to fan marketing and sales ecosystem.

Topspin's goal is to connect GoDirect with other music sites beyond MTV.  To facilitate that, they've created the Topspin ArtistLink API which developers, music services and music discovery
sites can use to access artist metadata, media and offers from Topspin GoDirect artists. Together they form an open and automated loop that enables artists to control their content and sell to fans wherever the fans find them:

"Artists use the GoDirect interface to update their profile, bio, images, songs, videos, products and offers… and developers then use ArtistLink to build great apps for fans around content that comes directly from artists."

GoDirect could attract a broader cross-section of artists anxious to connect with fans on MTV and other sites.  If it does, it also puts Topspin more competitively in the space occupied by companies like ReverbNation, RouteMusic, Bandzoogle, Sonicbids and Bandcamp who already serve a broader community of tens of thousands of musicians.
