The Real Reason SOPA Didn’t Pass: Marketing
Last Wednesday, several major websites (Wikipedia, Reddit, Mozilla, WordPress) blacked out to protest SOPA and PIPA. These two controversial bills were proposed to fight online trafficking in copyrighted intellectual property and counterfeit goods. Many protested because they felt that SOPA and PIPA would censor the Internet and go against freedom of speech. On Music Think Tank, Simon Tam gives his opinion on why he thinks SOPA and PIPA didn’t pass. What are your thoughts on fighting online piracy and protecting copyright?
