Trent Reznor Joins BBC Musicians’ Masterclass 2012
BBC Introducing is an awesome resource for indie musicians in the UK. It connects artists to performance and publicity options and includes a special offering, the Musicians' Masterclass. In its second year, this live event brings together music industry professionals and established musicians to offer workshops, interviews and masterclasses. Taking place January 19th, the sessions will be streamed live online.
One of many unique offerings from BBC Introducing, making it an enviable resource for indie artists, the Musicians' Masterclass will feature the involvement of such musicians as Trent Reznor, Wretch 32 and Jamie Cullum.
Additional artists include Maverick Sabre, Friendly Fires, Magnetic Man and Frank Turner. DJs from multiple stations in the BBC Radio networks will be involved and masterclasses will take place:
"covering everything from guitar techniques with Newton Faulkner, The Young Guns, Bernard Butler, Chantel McGregor, Aziz Ibrahim, Sam Carter, Steve Rothery and Marcus Bonfanti, MC Techniques with Manga, Flow Dan, JME, Lady Leshurr and Lethal B, DJ Techniques with Pete Tong, James Zabiela, Bobby Friction and DJ Fresh."
The day's events will be available online in 4 livestreams beginning at 11 am (6 am ET in the U.S.) with the final event, Question Time: The Industry, beginning at 5:30 pm. All events take place in London at the Abbey Road Studio and BBC Maida Vale Studios.
The big question to which I have yet to receive an answer is whether or not these livestreams will be accessible in the U.S. Given that a variety of BBC streams and videos are blocked to U.S. viewers, including material that seems unlikely to be otherwise available in the States, your guess is as good as mine.
That said, clips from the 2011 sessions are streamable so, even if the Live Streaming Schedule is not accessible, archived material should be available after the event.
