Connect With Fans Using New Mobile Backstage Facebook & Mobile Apps
Mobile Backstage provides a mobile social network for your band or brand. They've recently added a Facebook app to extend their presence into that domain. Connecting your band's network to major networks like Facebook seems almost mandatory but also opens up new possibilities for discovery given the growing numbers of mobile Facebook users. I think of Mobile Backstage as a mobile fan club management system with social networking as a key feature. More & Video:
Mobile Backstage Facebook Application
Mobile Backstage announced its Facebook app in June and has been featuring the app of the band Black Label Society.
The mobile and Facebook apps provide geolocation services with check-ins for mobile users. Mobile options currently include an iPhone app and an ovi/Nokia app.
In a video that's perhaps a bit long, Steam Republic presents Mobile Backstage as part of a stack of what one could consider tools for a band's customer management:
- Mobile Backstage is for hardcore fans.
- Facebook and Twitter are for connecting with those who want general updates and basic interactions.
- Open web publishing options, such as blogs and artist websites, are for the general public.
Whether or not Mobile Backstage is the solution for you (and I'm still checking on pricing), finding a way to directly manage your relationship with your hardcore fans is key to your long term success and, whatever your approach, it should include a mobile component.
